The Administrative Committee’s year-long prayer guide enables you to pray for every church, presbytery, agency, committee, MTW missionary, and RUF campus ministry of the Presbyterian Church in America. We believe prayer should play a central and essential role in promoting the peace, purity, and mission of Christ’s church.
As you read through the book of Acts, you notice prayer’s vital role in the advancement of Christ’s kingdom:
- Acts 1:14: “All these with one accord were devoting themselves to prayer, together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and his brothers.”
- Acts 4:29: “they raised their voices together in prayer to God…enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness.”
- Acts 2:42: “And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.”
The early Church saw God powerfully answer their prayers in the progress of the gospel, the multiplication of churches, and the advancement of Christ’s kingdom to the unreached regions. May we see the same.
Since Jesus said, “My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations” (Mk. 11:17), we’ve also included every nation as part of this guide. Though we can’t list the names of MTW missionaries serving around the world for security reasons, you can pray that God would use their labors to fill the earth with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord.
This prayer guide is a practical way for us to collectively approach our Savior’s throne of grace and ask Him to use our meager efforts to do more than we might ask or imagine. May the prayers of the saints lead to the advancement of Christ’s kingdom.
